Hyundai has reported 19 NHTSA recall campaigns in 2026 that list at least one model in RideTruth's catalog, as of October 24 (the newest was filed October 20). From January through October 2025 it had 11, and 16 for the whole year. The Elantra and the Tucson are named on 5 each, and the Ioniq 5 and Palisade on 4 each.

Which Hyundai models have the most 2026 recalls?
A campaign that lists several models counts once under each, so this adds up to more than 19.
| Model | 2026 campaigns listing it |
|---|---|
| Elantra | 5 |
| Tucson | 5 |
| Ioniq 5 | 4 |
| Palisade | 4 |
| Ioniq 9 | 3 |
| Kona | 3 |
| Santa Cruz | 2 |
| Santa Fe | 2 |
Fifteen of the 19 list a 2026 model year, and six list nothing else. Of the four that don't touch 2026, two reach back a decade: 26V307000 covers the driver's air bag inflator on the 2015 and 2016 Elantra, and 26V664000 the front power seats on the 2015 and 2016 Genesis sedan, which Hyundai sold before Genesis became its own brand.
The Palisade's four are a mix of old and new. One, 26V034000, covers the side curtain air bags and lists every Palisade model year from 2020 through 2025. The other three list only the redesigned 2026 model: an instrument cluster campaign, a rear power seat campaign and a rear seat belt buckle campaign.
What systems do Hyundai's 2026 recalls cover?
Electrical System leads with 5 campaigns, by NHTSA's top-level component label. Air Bags, Seat Belts and Seats follow with 3 each, then Suspension with 2.
Three of the five electrical campaigns sit in the propulsion system. 26V068000 covers the traction battery on the 2025 and 2026 Ioniq 5 and the 2026 Ioniq 9, 26V432000 the traction battery on the 2024 Ioniq 5, and 26V308000 the hybrid power control unit on the 2024 through 2026 Elantra hybrid. If you drive one of the Elantra hybrids that rank near the top of our most fuel-efficient cars list, that's the campaign to check.
Is Hyundai recalling more than last year?
Yes: 19 through October 20, against 11 from January through October 2025. May 2026 alone had 4; 2025 didn't reach 4 in a month until November.
And 2025, for comparison:
October 2026 has 3 so far, two of them filed the same day for the 2026 Elantra: 26V692000 for the front struts, which also lists the 2026 Tucson, and 26V693000 for the wheel lug nuts or studs, which also lists the 2026 Venue. A campaign count doesn't tell you how many vehicles are involved; each campaign's NHTSA record gives that number.

How do I check if my Hyundai is recalled?
With its VIN. NHTSA's recall lookup checks one vehicle against every open campaign. The 2026 Tucson's page lists each campaign next to owner complaints, and our Tucson recall and complaint note goes deeper on that model. If you add your Hyundai to your RideTruth garage, the site re-checks it for new campaigns each time you visit.
