Privacy
Your garage stays on your browser
Saved cars, campaign check history and expense notes are stored in this browser’s local storage. RideTruth does not synchronize them to an account. Backups and CSV exports are downloaded to your device. Clearing site data removes these records. Anyone with access to the same browser profile may be able to read them.
Requests and infrastructure
Opening pages sends normal web requests to the hosting infrastructure, including IP address, requested URL and browser information. Checking garage recalls sends the saved model-year paths to the server. It does not send expense records, VINs, names or email addresses.
The server’s access logs record each request: the page, the time, the response, the referring page and browser information. The IP address is shortened before it is stored, so the logs never hold your full address. Logs are kept for up to 180 days to secure the site and to count traffic. After that, only aggregate counts are kept.
Visitor counts
RideTruth counts page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics and Umami Cloud. Both load after the page has finished loading. Neither sets cookies or tracks you across other websites. Each receives the page you opened, the page that sent you there, basic browser information and the IP address that every web request carries.
RideTruth also uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read and how they arrive. It loads after the page has finished loading and sets a first-party cookie (_ga) that tells repeat visits apart. Google Signals and ad personalization are turned off, so it is not used for advertising. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, and in any browser that sends Global Privacy Control, the cookie is not set unless you agree to it. Google describes its processing in its partner-sites disclosure, and you can block Google Analytics in every site with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising and choices
When advertising is enabled, Google and its partners may process identifiers and use cookies or local storage to deliver and measure ads. Consent choices are presented through Google’s consent management platform (Privacy & messaging). That platform’s script is loaded from Google (fundingchoicesmessages.google.com) on every page for every visitor, before any choice is made, including visitors who send Global Privacy Control, so that it can show and record choices. RideTruth does not load its ad unit until that platform provides an eligible signal, and a browser Global Privacy Control signal always disables the ad unit. Advertising is currently turned off; this section describes what happens once it is enabled.
US state privacy rights
Residents of some US states, including California, can opt out of the sale of personal information and of its sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. RideTruth treats a Global Privacy Control signal as that opt-out for the browser that sends it. When advertising is enabled, the “Do not sell or share” link at the bottom of every page opens Google’s opt-out choice, and “Privacy & cookie settings” reopens your consent choices. RideTruth does not sell garage records; they never leave your browser.

Control your information
Export your garage before clearing browser storage. Remove a saved car to delete its local expense entries, or remove individual expenses. No account deletion request is needed for local-only records. Contact the operator for questions about server logs or information you have sent by email.
